【Abstract】 The meaning of “theme” is different from that of “ basic problem” and “main clue”. In fact, it is similar to the meaning of “ma in idea”. The theme of the Important Thoughts of Three Represents is “to build socialism with Chinese characteristics”. On one hand, it uses the same words a s the theme of Deng Xiaoping Theory does. On the other hand, there are differenc es between them in content.
