【Abstract】 The signaling pathway induced by Toll-like receptors(TLRs) play an important role in the innate immune response. TLRs are a family of innate immune pattern recognition receptors(PRRs) that recognize conservered molecular patterns(pathogen-associated molecular patterns, PAMPs), which are shared by large groups of microorganisms. Mammalian TLRs function as PRRs, through which macrophages and other defensive cells sense endotoxin(TLR4), peptidoglycan(TLR2),bacterial DNA(TLR9), flagellin(TLR5) and double-stranded RNA(TLR3), et al. The mechanism and function of TLRs in animals are discussed. The future work on TLRs are also included.
