【Abstract】 The construction of Chinese civic morality should consist of a variety of educational methods. Encouraging citizens to participate in voluntary service is an effective education way for self-education. The orientation, content, and form of voluntary service are all helpful to the education. During the course of voluntary service, being voluntary will help to develop the consciousness of civic morality; participation will help to develop the ability of civic morality; experience will help to develop the sensibility of civic morality; self-discipline will help to develop the responsibility of civic morality. The spirit of volunteerism is the representation of civic morality.
