【Abstract】 In the time of the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine the authors of this article hold that the study and implementation of quality control of traditional Chinese medicine should be given full attention and put forward the viewpoint that the characterization of the quality of Chinese medicine by one or two chemical compositions as carried on before fundamentally violates the integrated idea and the system of thinking of the science of traditional Chinese medicine, and at the same time the material foundation of the preparations of traditional Chinese medicine - the integration and complexity of the groups of chemical composition, cannot be able to be characterized .
