【Abstract】 On September 5, 2004, a super large-scale landslide occurred because of an extremely heavy rainstorm in Tiantai township of Xuanhan county, Sichuan province. The accumulative rainfall in 48 hours was up to 400 mm. The volume of the landslide is about 30 million stere and it severely destroyed the ground buildings and the farmland on the landslide . Besides these damages, it blocked river in front and formed a barrier lake which submerged the market town in upper reaches. Fortunately, because of the slow velocity of the sliding, people here could move away before the disaster coming with no life lost.The characteristics and the forming mechanism of, the stability and the developing trend of the landslide were analyzed.The triggering factor is rainfall, the bedrock lithology and land use features on the slope body is important factors, as well.Authors put forward the prevention countermeasure of the landslide.更多还原
