环形光纤声光耦合器构成的光时分复用器的理论研究

【摘要】 该文根据声光耦合理论,提出一种由环形光纤声光耦合器构成的新型全光时分复用器.从理论上分析了环形光纤声光耦合器的移频耦合特性,由该种耦合器的级联可实现8×2.5Gbs光时分复用(OTDM),并利用光纤声光耦合器分光比与工作波长可调性,避免了常规OTDM方法对器件性能的高要求.最后指出采用多个射频源作用于光纤声光耦合器可同时对多波长光脉冲时分复用产生高码率光脉冲信号.理论上的分析和仿真,表明了实现该器件的可行性.

【Abstract】 A novel full optical time division multiplexer (FOTDM) based on fiber acousto-optic coupler (FAOC) with loop configuration is presented using the theory of acousto-optic coupled mode. FAOC with loop configuration is analyzed theoretically.An 8×2.5 Gb/s FOTDM using FAOC with loop configuration concatenated is investigated. Due to the tunable characteristic between coupled power ratio and operational wavelength of fiber acousto-optic coupler, OTDM described in the paper can relax the requirements of ordinary OTDM methods for high performance devices. OTDM using several RF drivers can generate high-speed optical pulses of multi-wavelength simultaneously. The configuration is feasible in theoretical analysis and simulation.
