【Abstract】 The United States first got involved in Vietnam affairs in Roosevelt years. During WWII, Roosevelt suggested a decolonization program in Indochina which reflected the interests and demands of US. He insisted that France’s control over its Indochina colonies be replaced by a postwar United Nations trusteeship. Before his death, Roosevelt agreed French restoration of Indochina. The Roosevelt administration’s change in Indochina policy made the situation more complicated, led to the outbreak of the First Indochina War, and finally made US involved in the Indochina battlefield. A knowledge of the Roosevelt administration’s trusteeship policy can make us have a further understanding of the cause of the Indochina War.更多还原
