快速晶体型偏振模色散模拟器
Fast crystal polarization mode dispersion emulator
【摘要】 该文提出了一种单片机控制的快速晶体型偏振模色散模拟器,它由两个Faraday偏振旋转器和一个群时延差(differentialgroupdelay,DGD)发生器组合而成。其中Faraday旋转器偏振旋转角度可在180°内连续变化,DGD发生器可通过编程使输出符合需要的分布。此模拟器既可输出DGD分立值或符合一定统计分布的序列值,偏振方向也可以随机变化。实验证明,该器件响应时间小于1ms,输出重复性好,测量结果与理论值较为符合。
【Abstract】 A fast crystal polarization mode dispersion emulator controlled by a microcontroller was developed using two Faraday rotators whose rotational polarization angle varies continuously within 180° and a differential group delay (DGD) generator which can be programmed to match various distributions. The emulator can produce fixed DGD or DGD serials following various mathematical distributions and can randomly alter the polarization direction. Experimental results show that the emulator has good repeatability, with response times less than 1 ms, and that its measured values agree well with theory.
