【Abstract】 Japanese literary theorist Hakuson Kuriyagawa has exerted certain influence on the formation of Zhou Zuoren’s literary concept. Zhou is inspired by Hakuson Kuriyagawa in four respects, namely, the ideal human nature of the “uniformity of soul and flesh," the unity between individuals and mankind, “the symbol of depression," and the theory of essay composition.
