【Abstract】 The paper discusses the course construction and reform of the Fundamentals of Materials Science from the following aspects: criteria of the course, system and content of the course, the renewal of the teaching concepti on, teaching mechanism, teaching methods, teaching material development, reform of practice and experiments, modes of examination, criteria of evaluation, teachers’training, etc. Meanwhile, practice has been carried out accordingly.
