An association analysis between chronic tic disorder and polymorphism of dopamine receptor D5 gene
【Abstract】 Objective: To detect the genetic association between chronic tic disorder (CTD) and the polymorphism in the dopamine receptor D 5 gene. Methods: The genetype was detected with polymerase chain reaction ( PCR ) and restriction fragment length polymorphisms ( RFLPs ) technique. The data were analyzed with hyplotype relative risk ( GHRR and HHRR ) and transmission disequilibrium test ( TDT ) methods. Results: In the DSM-Ⅳ and CCMD-3 diagnosed CTD children ( n=176 ) and their parents, we found no significant association between the dopamine receptor D 5 gene and CTD ( GHRR: x 2=0.32~1.61, df = 1, P > 0.05; HHRR: x 2 = 1.82, df =1, P > 0.05 and TDT: x 2 =2.25, df = 1, P > 0.05 ). Conclusion: The results do not support that CTD is associated with the polymorphism of the dopamine receptor D 5 gene in Han population.
