【Abstract】 This paper introduces the basic LBG arithmetic of vector quantization. Then,it introduces an improved new arithmetic,which reduces complexity in time and space than LBG arithmetic. The new arithmetic saves the storage and improves the compression ratio. The core of new arithmetic is creation of an adaptive codebook and produces the second compressed codebook from the one. It discusses the arithmetic from reducing the time complexity,saving storage and improving the compression ratio.更多还原
