基于主干网信息可扩展的应用层组播

【摘要】 由于IP组播难以在Internet中得到大范围地部署,从而引发了应用层组播的研究。为了减轻大多数应用层组播方法中存在的控制开销重、延迟大、扩展性差等不足,论文提出了一种基于主干网信息的可扩展的应用层组播方法——SAM,并通过参照CERNET主干网的模拟实验,表明了SAM方法的效率与性能。

【Abstract】 Application layer multicast has been proposed as a promising alternative to the IP multicast due to the difficulties in deploying network layer multicast in an operational network at the Internet scale.However,existing application layer multicast approaches are plagued by problems such as high maintenance overhead,large end-to-end delays,and less flexibility to extend.This paper proposes and studies a new backbone based Scalable Application layer Multicast,SAM,to alleviate some of the problems facing application layer multicast.In addition to discussing the SAM algorithms,this paper presents simulation results based on CERNET to illustrate the efficacy and performance of SAM.
