【Abstract】 It was the south that started the American War though it was in economic and political disadvantage. The causes for the south to start the civival war are as follows:The South’s economic system was in disadvantage;The South had developed from a Little Child into a member of the Northern Ally; The south had lost the advantage in state power and social life; The south had made a long preparation for the war and the separation from the Union; The subjective and incomplet estimate about the situations and the result of the war also made the south make the haste decision to start the war.
