【Abstract】 The paper reports the karyotypes of Lutjanus johni, Lutjanus russellia nd Lutjanus vitta through the chromosome metaphase prepared from kidney cells by the PHA colchicine-- hypotonic--air drying technique and Giemsa staining. The chromosome numbers of Lutjanus johni, Lutjanus russelliand lutjanus vitta were found to be 2n=48, which is telocentric chromosome, and the karyotype formula is 2n=48.
