【Abstract】 Hop is a kind of very important traditional Chinese-medicine. It has been studied by many researchers for it’s unique medical value recently. The progress of research on hop is summarized in this article. It involves the chemical constituents and pharmacological action and clinical applications. It has plentiful colophony, naphtha, flavones, tannic acid, choline, coarse-fibre, amino acid. Hop has anti-bacteria, anti-cancer and anti-oxidation action.
