【Abstract】 The article is a matacriticism of the relationship between T·S·Eliot and philosophy as studied in The Cambridge Companion to T·S·Eliot.It traces the change of Eliot’ s philosophical ideas and its reasons, emphasizing the influence of different philosophical schools of different periods of time upon him, the internal contradiction and the compromise. Based on a close study of the article, the author analyses the value of such study and points out the demerits of the article, such as the ambiguity of some definitions and the contradiction between philosophy and literature.更多还原
