向列相液晶(5CB)的二波耦合和自相位调制现象
Beam-coupling and self-phase modulation in nematic liquid crystal(5CB)
【摘要】 通过实验研究了水平和竖直偏振光对掺杂C60向列相液晶二波耦合和自相位调制现象的影响。实验中发现,在水平偏振光照射下两束透射光有较强的能量转移而在竖直偏振光照射时几乎观察不到明显的能量耦合现象。可见,液晶盒中的分子取向与光束的偏振方向有很强的依赖关系。
【Abstract】 Beam-coupling and self-phase modulation are studied in C60-doped nematic liquid crystal for light P-polarization and S-polarization. The energy exchange between two beams is observed when P-polarization, if the polarization is perpendicular to the wave vector,the beam-coupling effects is hardly observed. As a consequence, which the molecular reorientation in the liquid crystal cell is strongly dependent upon light polarization is obtained.
