【Abstract】 This paper introduces the theory and advantage of the object-oriented design of FEM (finite element method) program. Take element class as an example, the process of finite elements program design is described with C++ language and object-oriented programming. The advantage of better extendibility and maintainability as compare to the programming by using conventional procedural language such as FORTRAN are obvious.
