【Abstract】 The so-called ‘laterite’ gold deposit in sounthern China is controversial.Based on field investigation and indoor data,the author points out that the expression ‘laterite gold deposit’is inappropriate.The misuse of inappropriate‘laterite’may be due to the misunderstanding of the geological term in the dictionary and no understanding that metallogenetic environment of the Australian Boddington gold deposit which is a typical laterite gold deposit in the world.By the end the English and Chinese names for these deposits are suggested in the paper.更多还原
