【Abstract】 Liu Xiu is a feudal emperor with a great contribution in history. His life-long career began in participating in the peasant uprising led by Wang Mang in the last years of the Western Han dynasty when he made great contributions. He then unified the whole country. After becoming emperor, he kept himself free from conceit and indolence and based the consolidation of his rule on his sharing weal and woe with the people and letting the people live in peace and plenty.
