【Abstract】 Retail planning in the Greater Toronto Area recently has undergone a major transformation. This paperexamines the majorretail structural changes that have occurred in the Toronto region and relates these to various planning concerns. It identifies the general structure of Toronto’s retail economy and advances the major planning challenges that the city now faces. This is followed by a discussion of the planning principles that are articulated in the new Toronto Official Plan. The paper concludes with an assessment of the possible planning directions that may be instituted as Toronto’s retail landscape evolves and a discussion of the potential lessons for the emerging Chinese retail economy.更多还原
