【Abstract】 The present paper discusses the relationship between religion and English poetry, explaining the reasons why English religious poetry appeals to the readers so much and showing how to better understand this kind of poems. The paper defines also the religious English poetry, putting forward some new terms and concepts involved, such as the Ultimate Reality, the Ultimate meaning of human life, the Mystical atmosphere and the Mystical complex, etc. This paper concludes with some ideas and methods for a further study and a full comprehension of English religious poetry.更多还原
