【Abstract】 In Iris Murdoch’s novels there is often a "trapped" pattern, in which the typologized characters vividly show the moral dilemma.Among these characters the "outsider" with God-like power,can suddenly change humans’ destinies and cause the turning of their moral consciousness.Through a careful reading of The Green Knight,the aathor in this paper uncovers the outsider’s thematic function in Murdoch’s novel creation,so as to offer a new perspective understanding Murdoch’s novels.更多还原
