【Abstract】 In order to meet the needs of modernized technical development,in the gradation and classification on arable land the advanced geographical information systems soft ware should be adopted to deal with the space data. The GIS software Mapinfo and "Careland software" offered by Shenzhen Careland Info Tech Co.,Ltd,which took Jizhou city as an example,had probed into technology and method of calculating the position coefficient for gradation on arable land.
