【Abstract】 There are obvious defects in Tang Xianzu’s Pavilion of Peony despite its considerable instructive and artistic value. As a result of the scattered structure, the drama is so prolix that the motif is weakened. The character of Du Bao looks incongruous and broken. The arbitrary plot results in diluting realistic narration. The contemporary critic has been misconstruing the ideology of Pavilion of Peony.The paper claims that the drama is not intended to sing an ode to love but to describe the human lust.更多还原
