【Abstract】 In some readers’ view,the insurmountable gap between the British colonialists and the Indian people in A Passage to India results from the contradiction between the Britishers who lack sympathy and imagination and the Indians who are with sincerity and kind-heartedness but lack practical spiritual abilities. This paper disapproves of this view. According to this author, the contradiction mentioned above is rooted in British colonialism that naturally arouses the racial discrimination.更多还原
