【Abstract】 This paper first reviews the background in which the theory of reinforcement was put forward, and then discusses the close relationship between the reinforcement and behaviorism. Finally it presents the main features of this theory. At the same time it explores the influence of this theory on language teaching and learning. As a theory of language learning and teaching, it probes into the internal and logical factors of language learning, and objectively explains a basic phenomenon in a language learning process.
