【Abstract】 With the rising of ecocriticism, the world is paying more and more attention to Thoreau and his works. Against this background, my paper makes an analysis and comment on Thoreau’s view on nature as reflected in his four nonfictional works .The paper is mainly concerned about his aesthetic perspective, its symbolic implication, his self-claiming to be the son of nature, his scientific observation of nature and his stress on protection of nature.
