【Abstract】 Worldwide famous soil scientist, corresponding academician—Prof. V.A. Kovda is a good friend of Chinese people. The paper is in memory of V.A Kovda for his 100th anniversary of birth, concerning his activity in China, helping Chinese Academy of sciences to compile its long term plan for developing, organizing the China-Soviet Natural resources join expedition in Heilongjing basin, and enhancing academic exchange of soil science between two countries.
