【Abstract】 The experience of Herzog’s journey of heart from the introverted to extroverted gives Herzog an insight to see the true nature of the world. It is through his childhood memory, and through his encounters with the unmanageable otherness of Gersbach that Herzog’s interpretive itch begins to subside, and he can begin to look beyond it to the world.
