【Abstract】 Owing to their differences from undergraduate colleges and universities, vocational colleges, as local higher training schools, should be characterized by scientific research management. Effective rules and regulations ought to be formulated. Fundamental research should be taken as the objective of scientific research management. Moreover, on the principle of "locality, uniqueness and requirement", scientific research management in vocational colleges should closely keep up with the needs of local development and serve the local economy.
