【Abstract】 The method for realizing video catching, compressing and storage in real-time mode in the Microsoft Windows environment was discussed. In the usage of the multimedia such as video conference and visible-telephone, obtaining digital-video was pivotal precondition and compressing was absolutely necessary in the transmission. Before the appearance of Video for Windows (VFW),it was most complicated in catching digital-video.
