【Abstract】 In the history of China, “Fencha” is a method to perform the tea ceremony. Due to the dissappearance of Mocha, “Fencha” has also become a mystery. This thesis discusses the findings from two tombs dating from the Liao Dynasty and located in Xuanhua. The tombs of ZHANG Shi-qing and ZHANG Shi-gu contained two wall paintings and some artifacts. From these we may deduce the method to perform the tea ceremony of “Fencha” and the useage of the tea equipment. Through the frugality of the equipment, we can see the spirit of the tea culture. In understanding the ancient technics of “Fencha”, a revival of the skills and historical experience of Mocha may be expected.
