【Abstract】 In this paper, the new technology on preparing benzoic acid by KMnO₄ oxidizing methylbenzene is studied by means of mono-factor test. Fe₂O₃ as catalyst, the molar ratio of methylbenzene to potassium was 1:1, all KMnO₄ dissolved into saturate solution was placed into reactor and heated stepwise and reacted for 4 hour（1.5h at 75℃、1.5h at 85℃、1 h at 95℃）.
