【Abstract】 Pearl S. Buck’s translation of All Men Are Brothers has been encountering various reproaches since its publication due to its defects in fluency and readability. Nevertheless, considering Buck’s aim of rendering Chinese culture faithfully, this article makes an analysis of the cultural cause for her to choose the translation strategy of foreignization and the cultural value of her translation, and comes out with the finding that Buck’s translation reflects her acknowledgement of the value of Chinese culture and her respect for the differences between Western and Chinese culture; thus Buck’s version should be approved for its significance in maintaining the identity and characteristics of Chinese culture in the course of cultural exchange.更多还原
