【摘要】 本文利用中远集团SEPT数据库对航海英语听力、口语和阅读作了相关分析。与其它一般用途英语的相关研究相比,航海英语听力、口语和阅读能力相关度较低,表现出更大的个体差异性。ESP与EGP相比各语言技能之间的相关度较低是否具有普遍性,有待于进一步实证。航海英语考试中的非语言知识是导致相关度较低的重要原因,另外航海英语的特殊社会属性和船员的心理特点对航海英语呈较大个体差异起着重要作用。针对航海英语听、说、读等能力的个体差异大的特点,航海英语培训更应注重因人而异,因材施教。航海英语考试中的语言和专业内容各应占多大比例,如何更好地将两者有机地结合值得进一步探讨。更多还原

【Abstract】 The correlations and partial correlations were analyzed between seafarer’s listening, speaking and reading competency using data of COSCO SEPT Test Bank. The results indicate that the correlations between seafarer’s English listening, speaking and reading competency are much looser than as reported in English for general purposes ( EGP) . That the correlations between the various sub - skills of ESP are less significant than those of EGP needs further empirical study. Further analysis shows that the technical background knowledge in the test and the sociolinguistic and psycholinguistic aspects of Marine Navigational English for Seafarers may ac-count for such less significant correlations and greater individual difference. More emphasis on seafarer’s individ-ual difference is suggested in seafarer English training. The ratio of language content against background knowl-edge and the integration of them needs further study.更多还原
