【Abstract】 The operation of the transformational designing for No. 9 to No. 11 Lane of the Central Pedestrian Street in Harbin reflects different academic attitudes towards newly-built traditional architectures and different developing strategies for activation of urban space in the urban renewal, which are brand-new issues faced by Chinese cities. It is of great necessity to introduce the foreign experiences in urban management, and carry out discussions and research as well as exchanges.
