Criticism of the Three Basic Problems in the Current Teacher Evaluation: From the Perspective of Postmodernism
【Abstract】 The postmodernism orientation of teacher evaluation research is of great significance. Current teacher evaluation has become the mechanic and meaningless activity, resulting in the fact that many teachers view the teacher evaluation with an eye of fear, suspicion and hostility. The main cause is that the modernism orientation of teacher evaluation has led to the separation between subject and object of evaluation, and the hypothesis of evaluators and evaluation method of quantification. Borrowing the idea of postmodernism, we should respect the position of teachers as the subject in the teacher evaluation and establish the evaluation view of humanity. We can not think that evaluation is only the tool of improving the teachers’ teaching quality, but realize that evaluation not only should but can improve teachers’ professional development and personal growth as well as help teachers demonstrate their personality and realize their life value. Meanwhile, we should try to use the evaluation method of quality.
