【Abstract】 In recent years, more and more attention is paid to the graphical variable message signs (graphical VMS) in the metropolitan freeway management, which stands for the trend in VMS technology development. This paper presents the design process for the VMS system deployment and focuses on the panel design, information provision, and control mechanism for the graphical VMS.
