【Abstract】 Chinese character segmentation is one of the most difficult problems of unconstrained handwritten Chinese character recognition. The correctness of segmentation is crucial to recognition results. This paper surveys the main techniques in character segmentation and analyzes the strongpoint and shortcoming of every method.
