【摘要】 教师素质关系到教学改革的成败。作者做了一项大型调查 ,考察我国高校英语教师的基本情况 ,结果发现 :(1)教师目前的工作负担较重 ;(2 )年龄结构不合理 ;(3)男女比例失衡 ;(4)无研究生教育背景者比例较大 ;(5 )科研实力有待提高。作者认为 ,教育主管部门应该加大高校英语教师的培养力度 ,确保教学改革顺利进行。更多还原

【Abstract】 Teachers play a key role in teaching reforms in that their qualities determine whether the reforms will be successful or not. This paper is an analysis of the teacher quality data of English teachers in colleges and universities collected in a large-scale survey. Our analysis shows that (1) English teachers in colleges and universities bear a heavier burden of work than they can afford; (2) there are too many young faculty members; (3) male teachers and female teachers are out of proportion with female ones outnumbering male ones; (4) there are still a large number of teachers without postgraduate education background; and (5) teachers’ ability to do research leaves much for improvement. It is suggested that more effective measures be taken to strengthen teacher education programs so that College English teaching reform can be carried out efficiently.更多还原
