【Abstract】 The paper generally introduces the basic characters of various species of flounder family Paralichthys worldwide. And more focuses were given on some farmed species, Paralichthys olivaceus, P.dentatus and P.lethostigma , and research species,P.californicus, P.adspersus, P.microps , P.isosceles , P.orbignyanus and P.patagonicus , for their biology and culture technology.
