【Abstract】 As an excellent scintillation crystal, Bi₄Ge₃O₁2（BGO） has been widely used in high energy physics, space science and medical imaging et al. In this paper, progress on the structure, growth and properties of BGO crystals were summarized from the historical point, the spectroscopic properties, radiation hardness and defects.
