【Abstract】 Nowadays, Network monitoring technology is usually based on expensive hardware equipments which need costly investment. Based on the profound study of Microsoft DirectX9. 0, the authors of this paper propose their own viewpoint and feasible technology on how to use the software technology of DirectShow and common digital camera to realize monitoring the network video. The content involves communication protocol, encoding and decoding technology of video, encoding format of video and COM component programming technology. The ultimate result of the experiment is satisfactory, with the low expenses and credible technology.
