一种802.11功率控制协议的仿真

【摘要】 使用较为合理的能耗模型对一种基于802.11的功率控制协议802.11DPC进行了仿真研究.结果表明,在多跳ad hoc网络中,接收机信噪比门限值SSNR对802.11DPC协议的性能有较大影响.发射功率裕量K设置约为SSNR时系统有最高吞吐率,而增强接收机的抗噪能力(降低SSNR值)将极大提高功率控制协议的性能.得出了在由笔记本电脑构成的ad hoc网络中采用802.11DPC协议更加有利于提高系统吞吐率而对降低系统能耗所起的作用很有限的结论,并对仿真结果给出了合理的解释.

【Abstract】 By using an appropriate energy consumption model, the performance of an 802.11-based power control protocol called 802.11DPC was simulated. The results show that, in a multi-hop ad hoc network, the receiver’s signal-to-noise ratio SSNR will greatly affect the performance of 802.11DPC, that when the transmission power compensation parameter K is set about SSNR, the throughput of the system proves to be the highest. Simulation results also indicate that the increase of the receiver’s noise tolerance capability (that is, a lower SSNR value) will greatly improve the performance of power control protocols. It is concluded that in an ad hoc network composed of laptop computers, 802.11DPC is more appropriate to improve network throughput, but has little effect on reducing the energy consumption of the system. Some reasonable explanations to the simulation results are also given in the paper.
