【Abstract】 In a cross-docking system with stochastic demand, lateral transshipment can be used to redistribute stock between locations based on a certain criterion and to reduce possibility of stock out. The method discussed in this paper is to divided review period into several sub-periods. According to the expected total cost during the review period, whether to use lateral transshipment or not at each checkpoint is decided. Pushing gradually from the first checkpoint, the minimal cost under certain service level is achieved.更多还原
