【Abstract】 This paper analyzes the good time when the point-to- point WDM system is introduced to carry SDH system for network upgrade. Further more, the paper puts forward cost structure models of SDH ring and WDM ring and calculates the two rings’costs with varying ring size and traffic volume.The comparison of economics between SDH and WDM networks directs the evolution from SDH to WDM in the process of planning and constructing of transmission network.更多还原
