【Abstract】 The index of science and technology innovative ability for Chinese tertiary institutions is discussed here in the article. In light of the utilization situation in China of the currently internationally widely used science and technology innovation evaluation system, the SCI setup, the significance of using the SCI setup, especially in the tertiary institutions, is particularly emphasized.
