基于边缘生长的车牌定位新方法
A New Approach of Locating License Plate Based on Edge Growing
【摘要】 采用一种新的边缘生长算法提高车牌字符边缘检测的准确率。通过采用灰度局部方差极大的原则以边缘生长的方式检测边缘,实验结果显示该算法检测边缘的速度快,轮廓非常清晰。边缘生长结束后,通过分析边缘的几何特征确定其是否是车牌字符的边缘,最后利用字符与车牌之间的位置关系,准确地定位车牌。采用该算法的车牌定位程序在IntelPIV计算机上的平均运行时间只有100ms。
【Abstract】 The accurate degree of detecting edge of characters on license plate is enhanced by a new approach named edge growing.The fundamental of detecting edge is local variance maxima of gray scale and the method of searching edge is edge growing.The result of experiment shows that the speed of detecting license plate is high and the obtained contour is very legible.It only takes Intel PIV computer average 100ms to finish recognition of license plate with the arithmetic.
